My samsung galaxy S showcase i500 keeps powering on and off it won't do ANYTHING else!! help!

It is likely not the sd card or the battery. Sounds more like a motherboard problem or problem with the digitizer, or problem with the power button

Turn phone off, take out memory card, with battery in still, hold down power button and volume down button at same time. The screen will pop up to ... factory reset ,like brand new, so be sure and pull memory card cuz it'll wipe phone clean and you'll loose everything on card too!
