How to save a file in word

When I compose a file in word and try to save it in word it goes to word processor and when I send it or try to open it on another computer I get a bunch of numbers and letters

You have several choices when saving Microsoft Word files for use on another computer.

1. Ensure that both computers have the same version of Microsoft Word or that the versions being used are compatible with each other.

2. Save the Word document in the format which can be opened on the other computer, i.e. don't save as Word 2007 or 2010 .DOCX if your other computer only has Word XP or 2000 or 2003 - save instead as Word 95 - 2000 .DOC format.

3. If you don't have Microsoft Word on the other computer, install a copy of the free Kingsoft Office 2012 Suite which is able to open and edit all current Word document formats.

How to scan and send document

Place your document face down on the scanner bed. Press the button that starts the scanning process depending on your scanner or printer.

Save the scanned file to your computer by clicking "File" in the menu bar at the top of the screen, then choose "Save as." Choose the folder in which you wish to save the document from the drop-down menu in the window that popped up during the saving process. Choose a name for the document, then click "Save."


Sign on to your email account, then choose "New" or "Compose" to start a new email message. Click on "Attachments" or "Attach." Wait for a new window to pop up, then choose the file you scanned from the folder where you saved the document.

Wait a few seconds for the file to attach, compose your email message, then click "Send." Your scanned document will now be sent to the recipient's email address.

All a went is to send a e mail to my grand daughter with a funny pictures

Login to your email account, click on compose new mail.

On the email body screen, click on the shreysri.png or the paper clip icon.

It will give you a new window with browse option. Browse the file location you you PC, e.g. goto the pictures folder and select a file you want to send and click open.

You can add multiple files in the same way.

Note: All email service providers have different file size limit, most of them wont allow you to send files more than 10MB in size.

How to scan a letter and send it

When you scan the document (assuming that you have already installed the scanner to your computer) it will appear in a box that allows you to save it to your computer. Save the file to your desktop so that you can easily access it and recover it.

Open up your email service provider (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc) and click 'Compose.'

There will be a button that will allow you to attach a file.

Click it and go to the desktop where the image is saved and upload it.

Simple. I am also open to chat.

You will have to do a two step process to send a scanned document or image by email; the scan to e-mail button won't work. Scan using either Windows Fax and Scan or Paint. Save your file. Then start (Compose/Write) an e-mail to the person you need to send the document. Click Attach and browse to the location where the scan was saved. The default folder is C:/Users/<user_name>/My Documents/Scanned Documents . Click OK after selecting that image. Finish writing your e-mail and send it.

If you'd like to automatically open the e-mail program, browse to the folder where you saved the fax from Computer (Start button) and right click on the image. Choose Send to Mail Recipient. The new mail compose window should open.

How do i scann something and send it as a email?

If you have a Windows operating system on your computer (XP Vista, etc.,) place the document you want to scan on your scanner and turn your scanner on.

Then,go to:
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint

1) When the Paint program opens, (on the toolbar at the top of the program) click on, 'File' then scroll down and click on, 'From Scanner or Camera'.

2) Click on the icon for your scanner, then click, 'OK'.

3) Click, 'Scan'.

4) The document will be scanned and imported into the paint program automatically.

5) Then, (again) click on, 'File' (in the toolbar) and select, 'Save As' > (name your document) > select a file on your computer to save the document in (for example: Pictures).

6) Log into your email account.

7) Click, N
'New' or 'Compose' (whichever applies) and compose (type) your email.

8) Then locate the word or option that reads, 'Attachment' (which will usually have a small icon of a paperclip by the side of it) and click on the word 'Attachment'.
(a window will open)

9) Find the button in the window that reads: 'Browse'. Click on the 'Browse' button and locate the file where your scanned document was saved > and click on it. (this should attach the file to your email.)

For large documents and files, if your email provider doesn't allow large documents or files, you can email them with yahoo. After composing your email, look to (your) bottom left of the page you are going to email and click on, 'Attach Large Files'

- you'll have to click, 'Accept the first time' then attach your file and click, 'Send'. That's all there is to it.
