Hi
I am in Australia and have a Panasonic TC29V10A. Recently it has developed a problem where the only thing appearing on the screen is a very bright thin line horizontally across the screen. The sound seems to be fine. How can I go about fixing this problem?
Thanks
Replace the vertical Ic and it probably failed because of the two Electrolytic Capacitors so check and replace if necessary. Not for a beginner but if you are good with a soldering iron and ****** it is possible.
Do you know anything about the insides of a television. the vertical Ic will almost always be attatched to a small heatsink and will have at least 4 to 9 pins on (usually the lettering on it will be tda or la then some numbers on it and usually it will be standing upright(vertically)it will usually be on the same board as the flyback transformer (this is a transformer that supplys the 25 000 volts approx to the picture tube. Just follow the lead back from the tube and you will see it.As for the Capacitors they look like cylinders with a marking on one side. Be aware though you must replace them with the same parts as are in it or else it will blow again or even may destroy something else also the Electrolytic capacitors (cylinders )are polarised so they must be put in the right way or they will blow up immediately. Happy to help if you like take a photo of the board preferably closeup and I will identify the components for you.
