A firmware update for your model addresses the print quality issues. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Pro900 Series Firmware Update. After successfully updating, run the Deep Clean Printhead function on your printer. Press the Ink Levels > More Options > Deep Clean Printhead. Then, try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Replacing the print head
The print head may need replacing if, after all print head and ink tank troubleshooting has been performed:

  • The nozzle test appears broken or to have horizontal white streaks.
  • One or more of the colors is missing from the Nozzle Test.
  • The colors are incorrect on the Nozzle Test.
  • A print head error is indicated on the unit.
  • The printer powers off when the print head is installed.
I hope it helps!!!

There is usually a maintenance button or similar in the "printer properties" dialog box to run a cleaning cycle."Right click" on your printer, select "properties", and you should see something. Try that.
Also, are these Original cartridges or compatibles / refills? Non originals can often cause image quality problems

SOURCE: Canon MP980 prints horizontal pink lines across

try to change the color ink. horizontal banding (the pink or other color lines appearing means horizontal banding) when there is a problem on one of the heating element of the printer head. since almost all canon printers have head built in the inks, replacing the faulty ink will solve the problem. if not then the controller of printhead on the carriage and mainboard needs to be checked.

Horizontal White Lines

My 1st thought would be clean heads also. If ink is tanks only not heads take ink out and try cleaning heads with liquid cleaner available @ Staples or similar stores. Another fix might be to use alignment utility for your printers software; however before you do any of this if ink is old or nearly empty replace ink.

I have a HP Office Pro L7580, model #C8187A. I am getting white horizontal lines across my documents. The white lines appear about every two to three inches. The top portion of the letters are missing

The black print head has a few blocked nozzles.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

My prints come out with white (no ink) horizontal lines 1/16" apart from top to bottom

A firmware update for your model addresses print quality issues. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Pro900 Series Firmware Update.
After successfully updating your printer, do a deep clean function. From the printer touchscreen panel, touch Ink Levels > More Options > Deep Clean Printhead. This will help clean the nozzles from possible clogs and dirt.
Then try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
If that doesn't help, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for further assistance.

Change black ink and now prints with white lines through the words on every other line

It is CLOGGED print-heads that cause the ink to _not_ be sprayed onto the paper, resulting in "white" horizontal lines.

Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle", using the Epson software installed when you installed the printer.

2" black horizontal line appears on paper when I fax, print,

Check the wondow where the paper passes to be scanned. You will probably find some debris or white out stuck on the glass. That is usually the cause of vertical lines on sent faxes.

Horizontal lines (red) on first 1 - 2 pages of initial print-out

Do you refill ink tank? Print blank pages. Is there horizontal lines appear? It might be caused bay ink leakage. Check respiratory hole at ink tank and rubber seal at bottom of ink tank. Print blank pages until no horizontal lines and try to use new ink tank.
