Hi. I just got off of the phone with an HP case manager. I was ready for a refund, but he helped me and now my printer is working fine. The key is to have your Officejet 6310 plugged directly into a wall socket. The variations of power through a surge protector often cause a power shortage to the unit. The 6310 needs the 110 volts to operate. Surge protectors will sometimes rob the unit of this power. Follow these steps: 1. Unplug the power cable & ethernet/usb cable from the unit (stand alone mode). Let it sit for a minute. 2. Plug the power cable directly into a wall socket. Then plug the power cable into the 6310. 3. After it powers up, push the "Setup" button. 4. Right arrow to "2.Print Report." 5. Press "OK" button. 6. Right arrow to "4.Self-Test Report." 7. Press "OK" button. A page should print showing alignment and color settings. Now you're back in business!
