I have a Panasonic Model CT-2701G which has recently shows horizontal white lines across the the top of the screen. There is about 6 to 7 of these lines and they cover about 2 1/2 inches of the top of the viewing screen. They do not show if the the program is in a wide picture view format. It shows when the picture background is light, when it is a dark background it seems to be masked and not seen.
I have the same exact problem with my 2 year old Sanyo 27" TV...Please Help.
Re: Horizontal white lines across top of TV screen

Check its vertical output section circuit for any component damage or loose soldering terminals. Check the solder terminals of the vertical output IC. Resolder all the suspected solder terminals by applying al little more fresh solder, without making any solder bridge short in between adjacent solder terminals. If this do not help you, replace the vertical output IC. Lose of Vertical Scan is the problem of your TV.
The line is there because the vertical deflection unit - the one that spreads that line across the entire screen to form the image - has failed. Replacing it is a job for a professional, or at least an experienced amateur, and the parts will be quite difficult to find for such an old tv .
Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps. It solved our problem.
