If you have Hitachi model number 50UX58B, 60UX58B, 50UX58K, 60UX58K, 50SBX78B or 60SBX78B and you have the following symptoms you may want to grab a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit that includes the parts and instructions to fix these models. This is a fairly common problem with the above model numbers. It is typically caused by a blown capacitor and pico fuse. Again, you can get a kit from the above address.
Here are the symptoms...
Primary Symptom: No Audio or Video. Power light will come on briefly then shut off. Other Possible Symptoms : The green LEDs on the circuit board light up for a few seconds then turn off.

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.
you guys are going to love me. lol. i figured it out at least for mine. $ ) 1.start by unplugging the tv and everything plugged into it(make sure the only thing plugged into the tv is the power cord). 2. next plug in the usb flash drive with the update or a compatible version of the firmware.
3. now while holding down the up arrow button on the tv remote, plug in the tv and keep holding the up arrow while pressing and holding the power button on the side on the tv until you see the light on the tv go from solid green to solid red and yellow flashing lights. once you see this just sit back and wait a few min for it to force the update and it should turn on when its done.
let me know if this works for you as well or if you need any clarification. also know that step three is a pain to do alone and must be all done within a short period of time preferably at the same time.
Same happened with my Olevia 540-B11. You can probably find the details of how to disassemble the TV somewhere online. The problem is poor stress-relief on the cables that plug into the secondary (low voltage) side of the power circuit board (PCB). Once the back is removed you'll find the PCB on the left side with three cables connected to the very top of the board. These cables plug into four clips, 3 horizontal clips side-by-side at the top and one vertical clip on the left side. Unplug these cables, remove the PCB and re-solder the sockets (there are approximately 40 solder points on the back of the board). Reassemble your TV and it'll work just fine.
make sure the lamp cover is in good and the screw is snug just had mine open and only thing that it does is red light flash and nothing on screen......unplug power and try it then plug it back in about three or four minutes later.....hope that helps
The problem is the digital main board if you can get ashop to order it for you its easy to replace yourself four screws and three or four plug in connectors.
