We are having problems with our Bosch SHU5316UC dishwasher. I replaced the control module and we are still having problems. I discovered there is a test cycle. I put the unit into test mode by pressing the on/off button while SCRUB WASH and DELICATE/ECONO are pressed. I then release SCRUB WASH and DELICATE?ECONO and then press them again to start the test cycle. When the test cycle is complete the unit displays the code 04 indicating a filling fault. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

The Control module on our SHU43 blew this morning and when I took it apart to get the module out, I discovered why two of the Cycle selections no longer worked..... the little plastic lever that pushed the switch behind the fascia button - had broken off. You may have the same issue. It's not a cheap fix though as a new module is gonna cost me $175.
SOURCE: Error code 2H
The control panel needs to be replaced (indicated by the "2H" error code displayed at the start of the cycle).
BTW - The number 1 displayed at the end of the cycle indicates the cycle has timed out (i.e., it doesn't mean 1 minute remaining). Hence the continued running of the unit. Until you replace the control panel, you'll have to manually cancel the cycle at this point.

2H is not exactly an "error code", but it does indicate a problem. It means that the machine exceded its wash time by more than 2 hours. This is usualy caused by a failure of the heater, most often caused by a failure of the controll. Remove the control from the door, remove the plastic housing from the control, and check for a bad solder joint on the heater relay.
If you find a bad solder joint, REPLACE the controll.
Or call a qualified service person.
NOTE: The SHU53A dish washer with serial numbers from FD8205 to FD8507 are included in a factory recall. If your dishwasher is one of these contact BSH @ 1-800-586-9226 24/7.
