Umax AstraNete5420/5470 Colour Scanner Version 3.73

Hi I had the same issue. I just downloaded the evaluation copy of Vuescan, which includes a Windows 7 driver that works with this Scanner (32-bit & 64-bit) When selecting the model of Scanner I chose "Umax Astra 5400", which worked fine with the 4450.

Sorry, the manufacturer has not released a driver for either Vista or Windows 7. You can try other Umax Astra drivers and see if one of them will work.

The only available driver for the umax astraq5000 scanner are Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP. But If you really wanted to use your printer on windows 7 you can use a program like xp virtual machine or VMware. Just install this program and then install windows xp in your VMware and install your scanner. Download the VMware software from this link. Click the download latest version link and download it. install the vista drivers if any and maybe xp ive got things to work before

go to the website for umax and you should be able to download the driver you need.

your Scanner work with VueScan and aspii-drivers. When you install first the aspii-Driver and then VueScan they work without any Problem.
Or you install Umax-Software and Driver (When i back home tomorrow I can write witch Version...).

Windows XP supports Astra 610p with its own WIA driver. So to install the WIA driver open the Windows XP controll panel “Scanners and Cameras.
Select the command “Add” and as Manufacturer select “Umax Data Systems”.
Follow onscreen step-by-step instructions to complete the installation for Astra 610P scanner.

First, go to the link below and download the Vistascan 3.55 and install. http://www.opendrivers.com/driver/211488/umax-scanner-astra-2100u-vistascan-3.55-usb-free-download.html Next, download and install the Patch for XP from UMAX (link shown below) and you should then be able to see and use your scanner. http://www.umax.com/download/index.jsp Note: the software on the original disk can still be used.
