When i try to do anything with sound it comes up with a message (cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available, or the hardware is not responding.) the i clicked on details and this is what i got (windows media player error center) (THERE IS NO SOUND CARD) (you either do not have a sound card installed on your computer or it is not functioning properly. if you dont have sound card installed , you must install one before you can listen to audio in a digital media file. if yu do have a sound card installed, refer to its documentation to troubleshoot the problem)

i went to system in control panel and checked out the hardware then device manager. it had a !on AUDIO DEVICE but there was two like that aqnd there was also a ! on unknown device in the sound, video and game controllers. when i clicked on the !audio device it said (the drivers for this device are not installed.[code 28] you can install the drive on the computer bu t i cant get internet to download the driver so i want to download it on my regular pc to put it on my memory card and then put it on my laptop
if u can hel me that would be great but if it is more than downloading a couple drivers like having to buy a sound card than ill have to live with it like that. but i really hope you can help me because i really like listening to music.

I would recommend trying to see if these drivers will correct the issue..I can't see you having a laptop, and all of a sudden, there is no sound card installed? So, I think the drivers will solve the issue. You will need to enter serial number of laptop..click on the below link..
there are many reason why you are having this problem, as i can see that you have code 28
Solution : Reinstall Driver, try to find your accompanied CD that goes with your pc
This code means the device was not installed completely.
To resolve this issue, follow the recommended solution. If that does not work, try removing the device from Device Manager and using the Add New Hardware wizard to redetect it. or remove the device physically and re-install it, or else You may need to obtain updated drivers if the error still occurs.
what kind of sound card?
You need to install the correct driver for the sound device, because with win XP it can install a generic driver but it wont be working properly so if its a built sound on your MOBO you need to install driver for it from the MOBO setup CD.
The easiest/quickest way to solve this is system restore your computer to an eairlier date.try to remember when this problem started and goto that date.happy holidays
