Unscrew the tip of the cigarette lighter plug (grey, silver or black small ringon the tip)
inspect the fuse inside, be carefull not to lose the spring behind the fuse.
if fuse is blown replace with same new fuse.
put it back together the way you took it apart.
plug it in and see if you still get the message.

Try submitting the problem to Nextar, tell them that the cable is defective and ask a replacement. They donot offer a factory guaranty , but they may offer you a replacement.

That may have been the problem but I was using cable in car when it happened then set up in house and it still did same thing I have had it unpluged since yesterday now it works so would yoy please check to see if I can get a car cable under warnty
