Basically, try holding the TV button, the on/off button should light up. Then press the digits for the code one at a time. If the code is accepted, the on/off button should go off. Finally let go of the TV button. Now try operating your TV.

You have to hold the component button (TV) and enter the code from http://www.rca.com/codefinder. The SKU it asks for, on my RCR312W, was under the lid from the batteries. Hope it helps.

Someone had posted a solution to manually program the remote. The information came from RCA website. It worked fine. I still would like the code numbers for my remote. I have a LG TV that is about a year old.

Apex TV codes are 1236, 1243, 1244.
Daewoo TV codes are 1004, 1005, 1006, 1016, 1017, 1082, 1171, 1190.
Sharp TV codes are 1006, 1012, 1026, 1095, 1111, 1112, 1171, 1173.
