Your watch needs to be clean,so that the old oil will be taken out,and change it with a new fresh oil.Old oil can caused the machine to stop,because old oil become sticky causing machine small gear stuck up and gear shafting can't move .

Hope it may help you;

    Yes it is needs to clean .There are many causes that quartz clock watch stop;

    First# -The battery is weak or run out already.If ever you put a battery still not working,then the problem is in the battery terminals.Maybe it has a corrosion produce by the old battery .This is the common problem if the battery stay a long period of time and if you not replaced the battery immedietly.It will produced a silver oxide or lead oxide juice or others chemicals juice battery made of will come out from the battery and it will go through battery terminals and to the circuit board. That will cause the corrosion and a plastic film alike produced causing a new battery not functioning. The solution for this is to scrape the battery terminals for corrosion or plastic film.For the circuit board,don't scrape it will break the circuit connection,just soak it to watch cleaning solution,after one hour brush it so plastic film will taken out,watch technician knows this much.

    Secondly# - Your watch needs to be clean,so that the old oil will be taken out,and change it with a new fresh oil.Old oil can caused the machine gear to stop,because old oil become sticky and hardened causing the machine small gear stuck up and gear shafting can't move .The important parts to clean in quartz watch is the rotor gear,because it has a magnet it accumulate little metal particles causing the watch to stop to works.Rotor is the heart of the quartz watch.Even your battery is new or circuit board is new also it will not help your watch to works if the machine is dirty already.

    Thirdly# -When your watch is falling down or tug very hard it will have a side effect to the machine causing to stop.If your watch is shockproof or shock protected its better,because it is only loosen the screws and misalignment , when it is tug it hard or falling down compare to a not shockproof watches. Not shockproof watches it will break the gear shafting and the jewels bausing.Causing not to works even if your watch is new or clean or new battery.The solution for that problem is to replace the broken parts.

    Fourthly# - The circuit board is the quartz watch brain.When it is defected or damaged your quartz watch automatically dead or sometimes works intermittently.Damaged circuit board is mostly caused by battery corrosion .Also when water can get inside the watch and the circuit board become wet and leave like that,after few days it will form corrosion to circuit board.Circuit board has a life span.When it comes to its life span it will automatically dead.China made watch circuit board life span is 2 to 3 years .Japan made 3 to 5. Swiss made 5 to 7. Sometime you can't count correctly because it is already an oldstock in the store.Symptom thats your quartz watch is near to its life span it works intermittently, sometimes it works,sometimes is not or stop and your watch is always late. Even your watch is new battery and it is very clean if the circuit board is damaged it will not works..

    This is a free question, If my solution helps you solve or understand the problem,you can change the rating,it is the only way i get paid for my works,also please consider leaving feedback and i will be here to help you further.

Watch is a man's Collection Tango. After 2 years, a new battery. Soon after, the first battery, watch stopped. another new battery. certified watch maker, a new battery. has stopped again. Now, w?hat?

Sorry but I have no idea what brand of battery these are or if that is unusual for this model watch to use so much power. Use name brand batteries only. Duracell is the best for long life.

I have replaced the batery several times and the watch does not keep time and stops.Lucien Piccard 26489

mcdevito75 Here, hopefully you didn"t buy the batteries all from the same store, as watch batteries and all batteries have a shelf life of not too long. You may have bought weak batteries if all were bought from the same store, nothing to do about that as who knows the strength of packaged batteries. If you did buy all the batteries from one store, try another store and buy another battery, If the watch still stops and goes, your watch may be wearing out, specially if the watch is over 10 years old.

Battery is good, but watch stopped.

You need to hold in reset and mode to make it go back on.

I just bought my wife a michele csx-36 watch. Its brand new. The watch runs for about one day then stops . What do you think it is. We did replace the battery already. Thanks

that happened to me too...the watch repair man told me that I had the stop watch on. The stop watch should serve as a stop watch, not the second hand. The second time on your watch is the small dial at the bottom middle of the face. Once I turned off the stop watch feature, my battery life is fine...I have not had to change my battery in over 2 years now. HOpe this helps.

I have gone through 3 different watches, 2 fossils and one Bulova. All of them would just stop after a couple of months. I would replace batteries, then they would stop again. Is there any truth to the...

This is not a myth, but reality. Every living thing has it's own electric field and so do the humans. The difference is in density of that field - some has stronger, some weaker. And this is the cause of fast battery discharge and mciromotor stoping. Very few people has this field so dense, that the battery driven watch stops as soon as this person touches the watch. Most common is the case when the wearer of the watch needs to replace watch battery very frequently,so, I suggest you are one of them.
Consider of buying an automatic mechanical watch (spring driven). These watches are more expensive then their battery driven counterparts, but they can last for generations if looked after.
Do not buy kinetic or solar powered watches as you will expierence the same struggle as with battery driven watch.

Mens Relic watch stopped working after battry change

I suggest that your watch has an oxidized contacts and electricity can not reach the movement.
Do as folloes:
Take out the batttery,
Clean (scrape) all battery related contacts till they are shiny (use hardened steel needle for that),
Use the dust blower to get rid off any tiny dust and dirt particles after cleaning,
Refit the battery back.
Now your watch should work again.
If all written above do not help, then there is a problem with your watch and you will need the help of the watchmaker.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Did you have the battery checked to see if it was bad a first? Take it to a Reputable watchrepair , and ask them to CHECK your battery NOT replace it. Alot of times your watch will have a mechanical problem which will make your watch look like it is o.k. once you replace the battery but, two weeks later the watch stops again because the battery has lost enough power to now stop the watch again. Also your watch may have a electrical problem which a battery will not solve the problem. The coil (the orange straight piece in the movement), or the curcit board could be bad. Always have the store check your battery because, if you ask them to change your battety they will no matter if your original battery is good or not.
