Does anyone no how long you are covered for on your warranty when you purchase a garminplotter

  • dave Jan 03, 2012

Do you no how long the warranty lasts for. I'm really struggling to get it fixed . I've found someone that can fix it for me but I need the part, I need to get lucky and find someone that has one for spares, or hope that someone can come up with a company that stocks this component.

SOURCE: Garmin eTrex legend Joystick not working

I had a similar problem with my first unit. I returned it to the store where I bought it, and they were kind enough to give me a new unit because it was still under warranty. Normally, it would have to be sent to Garmin for replacement under warranty. It might be worth a try if your unit is still under warranty.

SOURCE: Garmin C530 need pin to unlock

Have you tried putting the unlock code in the main directory?  To do this open up notepad or some similar text program and copy the code from the yellow sheet onto the note pad and save it as GMAPPROM.UNL.  Then open "My Computer" and locate the Garmin removable device.  Open the "Garmin" folder and copy that file to it.  Safely remove it from your system and turn it on.

SOURCE: I purchased a used locked Garmin c530 gps

you will have to ask the previous owner for the lock code. if he doesn't know it, get you money back from him. the only way to unlock a garmin is to know which location the code was first programmed in or by sending it back to garmin with proof of purchase. this is an anti-theft feature.

SOURCE: need factory default for a garmin streetpilot c550 gps or pin unlock code?

There is no factory default unlock PIN code. You will need to take the unit back to your security location and it will automatically unlock.

Unable to see maps it is asking for pin wich I dont have. Purchased used garmin c550 at swap meet

The pin that it is asking for is a security pin that can not be reset. It is to prevent a stolen GPS from being used. If the person you purchased it from can not get you the pin then you must contact Garmin and they will have the information on file if the unit was registered. You most likely will have to send the unit back to Garmin to be reset. I have attached the link to Garmin. Thanks for using FixYa

MY GARMIN ASK FOR A PIN I DONT KNOW THE PIN IS THERE A FACTORY ONE

Someone entered a PIN, and you'll have re-enter it to use the GPS again. The only people that can unlock it is the person that entered the PIN and Garmin. You'll have to contact one or the other. Be prepared to provide "proof of purchase" when talking to Garmin - as they won't unlock it "just because".

You can contact Garmin Technical Support directly, here.

Pin problem

This is ODD, because I don't believe the C240 has a PIN lock.

However, have you tried a hardware RESET? The button is hidden behind the front panel, which snaps off by a fingernail slot located directly under the GARMIN logo on the front panel.

* Use caution removing and reinstalling the front panel... it's somewhat fragile... wiggle it a little to get it off.

Press where it says "Press to Reset", hold for a second or two. Charge the unit with the car cord or USB cable, then try to turn it on again.

Once you can get the unit to (hopefully) turn ON, you should run all updates (there may be several!) using Garmin's Webupdater. (Connect to computer with USB cable first.)

Hope this helps!!
