Question about Smeg SUK92MFX5 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

Suk92mfx5 For some time on fan setting the main oven has not been reaching correct temp (but has got hot) on non fan setting all seemed ok. Has now started doing same on non fan setting. Small oven seems fine. Does this sound like a thermostat problem? If so why has the problem not effected both fan and nonfan modes until now?

Problem is caused by out of calibration main oven thermostat or faulty (melted) function switch, only sollution check function switch for signs of melted or burnt connection other wise change stat. Regards Engineer

Shut off power at the mains breakers and restart. This may reset the unit.

the fan element would have blown. it is not uncommon for an element to trip an rcd when it blows. you are on the right track, if you replace the element all your problems should go away

SOURCE: Small Electric cooker on Range does not reach temperature

The orange light is designed to go off when temperature required is achieved in the oven. If the light remains on it suggests that the oven is not heating, It could be a thermostat problem but it's more likely to be the element.

I set oven temp. It seems to heat ok, during the bake cycle it beeps then shuts off, no display for oven function but the time display remains. Replaced the relay/display board but same.

the beeping is probably saying that set temp is reached just probably oven is still heating so dont turn it off look after an hour if it still on and very hot and worry about display changing its probably how the programmer wanted it to be

If the temp control works for all other settings, it is working for hot air grilling as it using the same stat....when hot air grilling function is used the grill comes on and when it reaches temp the element switches off and the fan switches on. Once this has happened the element and fan will alternate during the cooking period. The fan and element DO NOT operate at the same time.

Doesn't get as hot as it should

the range has two thermostats one for each oven located under the oven knobs. put a meat thermometer in the oven and adjust the thermostat screw with a small flat screwdriver untill the oven turns off at the correct knob temp.
registered on the thermometer.
then adjust the knob screw on the back of the knob to match that temp setting.
clockwise is hotter counterclockwise is cooler

sounds like you have a faulty new element. sometimes depending how long you supplier has had the element they get damp and when they get hot they go down to earth. if i was you i would take it back and get another one and try that. hope this helps you .

Oven not reaching correct temp

It isn't a design flaw. It is an air pressure switch. Main fan not running OR oven is dirty and the tube to the air pressure switch is clogged. Dirty ovens aren't a design flaw. I saw it once a week. Five minutes clearing the tube and you back in business. Hope this helps.

Check timer and clock settings

Reseat the element

Test the element

Test the element connectors

Test the oven temperature control

Test the oven selector control

Recalibrate the temperature control
