normal load. we use a thing (20bucks) a voltmeter DMM to test all power packs. or replace it for $10 if you can even find one this old.

this is by DESIGN to keep noise lower.
id the CD does not eject try on damand there is no power.

Solution found. Disconnect the battery and remove the power adapter, hold the ON button in for 20 seconds. Re-insert thebattery and power adapter. It works.
Solved my own problem but dont seem able to get it marked as solved........
This problem is solved, by me. It appears to be impossible to mask your own problems as having been solved by you yourself. I have requested a programme mod to permit people to provide solutions to their own problems. My request has been passed on to the department concerned.
