Sparkplug settings/16 ohv tecumseh

If you check out the link below you will see your engine basic type is listed but without the suffix though that isn't likely to be an issue as all the Tecumseh OHV engines listed all have the same 0.004" (4 thou) intake and exhaust valve clearance - it is unlikely your engine will be different...

The hose usually runs between the OHV cover and the air filter housing. On some Tecumseh engines there is a fitting on the top of the carburetor where the hose connects.

Set the intake and exhaust both at .004. This should get you running smooth. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Your problem could be one of several things.. A bad spark plug, bad gas, failure to lower the idle and let it run a few seconds prior to shutting it off, unadjusted valves, etc.

I'd start with the plug and some fresh gas, then go from there. Always idle the engine down for a few seconds before shutting it off. This allows all the gas in the combustion chamber to be burned up preventing backfire.

The plug you need for a Tecumseh Enduro OHV16 is a Champion N4C, and it should be gapped at .030 .

Tecumseh carbs.........mainscrew 1 3/4 turns idle screw 1 1/4 turns
Walboro carbs........... mainscrew 1 1/2 turns idle screw 1 1/4 turns

L-head and OHV heavy duty engines 1 turns for both
