We have a 2004 Holiday Rambler with the Sharp R-1870 installed over the range. There is no overhead cabinet. The microwave was ruined in a storm power surge and we tried to remove the oven to replace. it. We removed the bottom plate and removed the two 16" mounting screws but the unit still would not budge. The unit seemed loose at the top but still is held tight. It appears to be mounted in a metal mounting box but we can find any screws that we may have missed. Any direction would be greatly appreciated
We regularly repair the circuit boards of microwave which are hit by storm surges, etc.
This repair usually runs $39.95 to $64.95, depending on if we have to replace the low power transformer. I just thought I'd mention this if you're interested.
But if you've decided on replacing it, the installation manual should be helpful in removing it from the wall. See it here.
