Screen Glare We just moved our Sony rear projection TV to a new location and the screen has so much glare we can't see it unless we make the room very dark. We only have one wall where the TV will fit so we can't move it. We have windows on both sides and we have windows behind where we sit to view the TV. (Large "Great Room" with den, dining room, kitchen combination). We hope someone can give us recommendations on a glare reduction screen that might help. We live on a golf course and don't want to lose our beautiful view just to watch TV! We contacted Sony corporation and they said the screen already has a glare reduction film from the factory so they don't recommend any other options. We appreciate any suggestions that won't cost us more than the TV is worth to correct this problem!

Plasma TV's are known for their glare and reflection issues, you can still fix it by buying a third party anti-glare filter and applying it on your television. For example, "ViewGuard" makes filters that goes up to 65" in size. It is not cheap though, depending on the size of your television.
Of course, the best solution is to adapt your room accordingly. If the glare is caused by the sun light coming from the windows, installing curtains on your windows or moving your television to a better spot is a very effective way to reduce the glare and the reflections on your television.
If the glare is caused by the room's lights, the best solution is to install ceiling spot lights with a dimmer.
If JVC does not have it you are likely out of luck, if the outer protective screen it might be possible to have a piece of plexiglass cut and put in but the original was anti glare coated so you would likely have a glare issue.

yes, you need a philips screwdriver, pull the speaker grill off, remove the 4 or 5 screws along the bottom of the screen assembly, unlock the 2 electrical plugs and remove them from their ties, lift up on the screen assembly and remove it. turn it upside down and remove the 4 screws holding the bottom of the frame on, remove frame bottom, slide screen protector out, re-assemble, bingo, no glare.
I have the same problem with my Mitsubishi and the only solution I have come up with is slightly moving the TV's angle so the reflection is not as bad and closing drapes or curtains. Also turn off lamps. This is a poor design but Mitsubishi is not the only TV that has this type of problem. It is something I have become accustomed to and do not notice it as bad since I have moved the TV angle.
Generally, front speaker grill cover comes off , then
screen frame assy. off , then take apart, remove protect
glare screen. Reassemble ( keep same order - position )....T.
