F6 error... microwave not working

We had to change our light bulb for the first time in about 3 yrs...we changed it, it popped the bulb and burned it out in just a few weeks... now we tried to replace the bulb again and when we went to turn on the bulb to see if it's working... it's not... any button that is pushed has the thing making a low hummmmm --- light doesn't work, fan doesn't work. Unsure what happened. it's MHE14XMQ product which does not show up in the box below as valid.

thanks.

I have the exact same problem. I replaced the light bulb and it lasted about 2 months. I replaced it again and now I have the same symptoms.

I just bought a 1.1 size microwave. I tried popping a full size bag of popcorn using 2 pushes of the popcorn setting. The bottom popcorn came out black. Any idea why?

The microwave burnt it. It will be a bit of trial and error with using your new microwave and will also depend (in this case) the brand of pop corn you've cooking. Check the recommendations on the pop corn packaging for time and heat range. Happy popping!

FGMV205K cover removal

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you want to know how to remove the cover on your Frigidaire microwave, model# FGMV205K. There are two different covers that you are able to remove for access to two different light bulbs.

If you are trying to change the Microwave Oven Light for inside your microwave:

1)To replace light bulb, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)Remove the louver by removing the three Hood Louver Screws.

3)Push in the upper tabs and pull the louver away from your appliance.

4)Remove the light bulb and replace with a new 20 watt light bulb. DO NOT USE BULB LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

5)Close the Oven Light Cover by carefully pushing into place. Push the louver back into place (engaging both the bottom and top tabs) and change to hood Louver Screws.

If you are trying to change the light bulbs underneath your Microwave:

1)To replace light bulbs, first disconnect power to your microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging it.

2)To open Light Cover, remove the screw on the light cover.

3)Replace the light bulbs with new 20 watt light bulbs. DO NOT USE BULBS LARGER THAN 20 WATTS.

4)Close the Light Cover and secure with screw removed at step 2.

If further troubleshooting is needed, I ask that you please let me know the error codes displayed on your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-

Changing interior light bulb on GE jes1289sk

I have had this trouble before but with a different model. There may be a plastic screen inside the microwave that will just pop off exposing the bulb. Now all you will need to do is to find out what type of bulb you will need to change the other bulb. I hope this made things easier on you.

When changing the lightbulb under the over the range microwave oven I heard a pop sound and now neither of the lights or the fan won't work but the microwave and the clock on it still works, it is just...

probably caused a short while replacing the bulb(s) and, causing damage to the circuit board. pull the board out and carefully check for burned foil traces; and rebridge with solder. it may or may not work. always unplug the microwave when replacing the range lamps.

GE PEB1590 microwave oven. Interior light burned

Remove the screws from around the rear of the oven and slide the cabnet off to the rear. You should be able to access the bulb from here.
WARNING: any time you work on a microwave you have to be careful of the capacitor. Unpluge the microwave and discharge the capacitor with a large screwdriver with a plastic handle.
Be careful.

My microwave cooktop lights keep burning out. why? i've changed the 10 watt low volt bulbs 4 times in the last 6 mos. each time being careful not to touch the bulbs with my fingers. they will work for...

Are you keeping them on all the time?

Or is the the microwave subject to excessive vibration or door slamming while the lights are on?

Both these conditions are factors in premature bulb failure.

I would also avoid cheap Chinese bulbs from grocery stores and get the GE-specified bulbs either from here online or a local home center such as Lowe's or Home Depot. etc.

Light doesn't work on my over-the-range microwave oven

Absolutely. We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

At our Web site, you can get details of our service, plus we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

Sometimes this will also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

Light bulb burned out in microwave oven

Most likely you're going to have to dismount the microwave and remove the outside cover to get to the bulb. This is a fair amount of work but is not rocket science. I'm not famliar with your particular microwave, but it's probably that way. If it's any comfort to you, light bulbs are usually not covered by warranties or service contracts.

It won't hurt to run the microwave without a bulb.
