Question about Hitachi 50UX58B 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Jumpy picture i have a rear projection Hitachi 50" I think. It is not HD. The picture jumps or shakes or something...just bounces up and down before it gets warmed up. Happens with cable or games or movies. I moved it from my mom's house and maybe it got banged around. Can you help me, please?

Ck for dry solder joints if you take rear cover off and just lightly tap on convergence ic heat sink if the tv jumps then you have to remove the board and resolder the joints. also if you have a magnifying glass ck all solder joints on board when it is out

MY HITACHI 50GX30B HAD BLURRY VISION LIKE

Sounds like the convergence board, try replacing the STK voltage regulators and any resistors that may burned or discolored. This problem is causing the power supply to shut down probably.

Screen gets horizontal lines and jumpy screen.

Your problem is capacitors CP204 and CP205 by the 9 volt regulator on the main board. Cp204 is a 47 microfard @ 50 volt and the other is 100 [email protected] 16 volts

Lamp flickering

Well jumping has nothing to do with lamp so called bulb.
You have what I would call a cold solder joint.
You're going to have to open the set and tap gently to see were it is comming from. If you know anything about soldering they you will know it is not that easy.

Once you think you have found the place were it seam's to be the place were it make's it jump more often, start again to make shure that's the spot and not the hole area.
Then remove the board and resolder,

Good luck

Surround Sound Installation

The Hitachi 50UX57B is a 50 inch standard projection TV with a standard screen. It is not HD ready. If you need it, I think I can download the owner's manual (in PDF format) from Hitachi and foward it to you.

Jumpy Picture on Hitachi 55FX48B

On older Hitachis the most common jumpy picture is loose connections on the vertical output IC. If you can tap on the main board and get it to act up then this is most likely the situation. I believe the location is IC401 and is located toward the front of the set on the signal panel. Not too tough to repair if thats all it is.
