SOURCE: "Memory Low, Delete Some Data"

You might want to try a "Hard-Reset" To do this you turn of your phone, press and hold "Answer Call(Green)"+"3"+"*" and then turn it on. This should reset your phone completely and clear the memory. CAUTION, back up all your vital data before you do this, it clears EVERYTHING.

SOURCE: Phone Memory Doesn't Increase Even If I delete messages

Something probably got stuck in your phones memory, the easy way to solve this is to backup your contacts, calendar and other important items to your computer and do a hard reset of your phone.,

This is achieved by turning the phone off, press " 3 ", " * " and " green (answer call) " and turning the phone on at the same time.

Remember to save anything valuable, because it clears EVERYTHING.

SOURCE: NOT ENOUGH MEMORY TO PERFORM OPERATION.DELETE SOME DATA FIRST"

I think you installed the virus in phone. You need to hard reset your phone. Back up your data on your phone e.g. contacts, tones, images and videos.
WARNING ALL DATA ON YOUR PHONE WILL BE ERASE.
Here’s how to hard reset or format your Nokia N70 mobile phone:
1) Switch off your phone
2) Press and hold these 3 keys together:
-green dial key
-the star key(*)
-the number 3 key (Ugh, I wish I had three hands…!!)
3) Power on the phone
Warning: Do not release the keys until you see the hand animation is displayed.

SOURCE: Big Problem Sending & Recieving Messages

I am assuming that you purchased this as an unlocked phone?
It needs to be set up with your carrier if you already have not.
If you did a full reset, the settings for your carrier most likely were not retained through the reset.
The reason you would get this message on your phone would be if the messaging is not set up properly, it will try to use other resources on your phone not meant for messaging.

If your on T-Mobile, go to
http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/
and follow the instructions to set up messaging and web.

If your on AT&T Wireless, go to
http://selfcare.mycingular.net:8082/scgui/
and follow the instructions to set up messaging and web.

Hope this helps,
Simon.

If the phone notifies you if the phone memory is getting low. To free phone memory you have the following options:
  • Move data that you want to keep to an alternative memory (mass memory or memory card, if available) or to a compatible computer.
  • Remove data you no longer need.
Use File Manager or the respective application in your phone to remove data or to move data to alternative memory as described in the user guide. Typically you first mark files to be removed or moved and then you select the corresponding option (Delete orMove to folder).

Use Nokia Ovi Suite to move data to a compatible computer.
In order to free phone memory, you could remove or move the following:
  • Messages from Inbox, Drafts and Sent folders in Messaging
  • Retrieved e-mail messages from the phone memory
  • Saved Web pages. Clear the web browser cache to free some phone memory (e.g. select Options > Clear privacy data >Cache).
  • Saved images, videos, or sound files (in Gallery, Photos,Videos or Music player)
  • Contact information (in Contacts)
  • Calendar notes (in Calendar)
  • Downloaded application packages
  • If there are applications which are not needed any more, uninstall them with Application Manager
  • Any other data that you no longer need
If you are deleting multiple items and any of the following notes are shown: Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first or Memory low. Delete some data, try deleting items one by one (starting from the smallest item). After deleting data, restart (power off/on) your phone.
Tips: Use the memory card or mass memory instead of phone memory in the Camera or other applicable applications in case the selection is available (e.g. via Options > Settings >Memory in use).

I hope this helps!!

Nokia 5230- (1) When i try to send a text/reply "Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first."(2) When I try to make a call, "Memory full. Delete or move some data from C:...

hi, yes and no is the quick answer, basically its telling you either your message out box is full or you have used a lot of hte memory on the phone, try going into messages via the menu then go into sent or ot box then choose delete and if you then highlight the message you want to delete then press settings and choose mark if you then do this to all the ones you want to delete then when you have finished you can choose delete and it will then delete all the ones you have marked.

now for your second question, im afraid their is no way of changing the settings to allow you to change the amount of time the messages are kept, you can change the settings so it dont save any sent messages at all but this can be a problems as you will never know what you have sent, the best thing to do would be to go through your messages say every other day and delete the ones you dont need.

now if you free up some memory on the phone by deleting things like inbox, outbox, sent messages also delete any pictures you dont need and even delete any ringtones you dont need doing this will free up memory and it will then store more messages on the phone than it is storing now

let me know how you get on or if you need furher assistance ok

please can you rate this solution, many thanks

You may try to format the memory card and then try again. If needed, you can use a camera photo recovery tool to recover photos from memory card.
