The M+ card and the latest XD H cards are not compatible with your camera. It has to be an M card. Also some models I have found will not except a card bigger than 512mb or 1gb.
Check the maximum capacity memory card that your older camera will take. My Fuji will only take up to a 2gig card unless I flash the firmware in the camera to take the newer 4gig cards. Some of the older cameras maxed out at 1 gig or less. Check eBay for smaller capacity cards as they are getting hard to find in stores.
The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is a 512mb card without the letter M or H in front of the 2gb. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there are no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.
may be your card is incompatible with your digi camera. anyway try it with another card but same model of your card to see if it is working with this type of card or not. if yes then change your card because is gone. if no change card type.
