.The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SOURCE: Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan

SOURCE: I have Z612 Kodak Easyshare

I had the same problem when I bought a 4GB card to replace the original 2GB. When I took it back to BestBuy where I bought the camera, I was told that this camera could only use a 2GB card. So, I bought a 2GB card, installed it, and everything was fine.

SOURCE: Self Repair Cracked LCD

I just replaced the LCD in my Kodak EasyShare753. I removed all of the screws that I could find, but still couldn't get the case apart. I finally found that the selector knob on the top of the camera has to be rotated to the SCN position. The lower part of the knob is slotted so that the camera case easily slides apart once the slot is pointing in the right direction.

This means that the internal memory of the camera is full. Apart from the external memory slot, camera's have this what you call internal memory. It is built-in to the unit itself.

What you want to do is to set the default storage to the external memory instead of the internal once.

On the Menu, navigate to image store and then choose AUTO.

Auto (default)—the camera uses the card if one is in the
camera. If not, the camera uses internal memory.
Internal Memory—the camera uses internal memory,
even if a card is installed.

Also, you would want to set the camera resolution to a lower value to. The higher the pixel rate, the bigger space it eats up in your memory storage.

Kodak easyshare troubleshooting

When you have removed all the pictures on the card next time, format the card. this will clear out all the pesky little bits that haven't been erased yet. This should speed up the card again.

Here are the steps: 1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. 2. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a No power repair or a new cable. Does anyone have an answer to the internal memory problem yet? I can't get the pictures off the memory card. I can't find my manual.

To get the pic off the memory card, remove memory card and install into either computer or take it to any photo businesses and they can print them for you.
