Press the menu button and go to the shooting menu (the little camera icon). Scroll down to "movie settings." there are three quality settings. Select the one you want then try a test shot. The higher quality setting (1280 X 720 pixels) uses more memory. The default setting is 640 x 424 pixels and the lowest quality setting which uses the least amount of memory is 320 x 216 pixels. Sound is off by default so if you want to record sound with your video, you need to turn the microphone on in this menu as well.

wow that is kinda long did you format it in the camera or on your computer? also if you turn down the video/picture quality it will not take so long but 2 min is kinda long you might have a bad card take it back where you got it and see if they will swap it for a different one format it in the camera and try again if it is still slow try to format it in your computer and use FAT32

sounds like internal problem but you can try hard reset by pressing the OK and Menu button at the same time and choose reset camera. also update firmware. else send to repair at olympusamerica.com/repair

Unfortunately there is no way to disable the microphone when recording short movie clips. There is no menu setting to allow you to turn the microphone off.

the C770 Ultra Zoom has the ability to use cards larger than 512MB and Type M cards but only for still photos. I tried to use a 1GB card and Type M cards with the same problem "Picture Error". Large videos (over 30 seconds or so) or videos utilizing zoom inevitably caused extremely long time to write the file to the card or failed in the process. The camera is only rated for up to 512MB card from the factory. [email protected] if you have other questions...hope this helps

From the specs i've read on this camera, it does not record sound in video clips taken.

The FE180 and FE190 do record sound.

mY DAV-C770 has the exact same problem ...when watching a movie it will intermittently pause or freeze ...then continue. It will do this 20 or 30 times throughout a movie. I asked a tech at Sony for help and he told me the laser reader is out of alignment. The minimum amount to have the dvd player sent out and repaired is $200.00, and thats if it does not require any parts. with a new laser reader it will be about $400.00. Almost the same price as a new dream system. Not worth fixing. I used to think really highly of Sony - until now. Jackal
