Question about Olympus Camedia C-770 Digital Camera
The camera used to automatically record good quality sound. Now it doesn't record any sound unless I go in manually and turn on the mike. If the camera is switched off, the mike goes off again. Plus I am not sure if this is the correct mike, as mainly get hiss (as tho wind noise) and very little sound of what you're recording. The setting on the camera is AUTO, which is what I think I always had it switched to for movies.
SOURCE: Record movies with sound
The Olympus D-395 Digital Camera can record movies in QuickTime Movie Mode, however it cannot record sound.

Unfortunately there is no way to disable the microphone when recording short movie clips. There is no menu setting to allow you to turn the microphone off.

SOURCE: C-770 Sound not recording in movies
Page 104 of the advanced camera manual explains how to enable the microphone to be able to record movies with sound. If you do not have that manual it can be downloaded from www.olympusamerica.com website

SOURCE: my camera microphone is bad quality??????
Mine does that too! Idk, i guess it's normal. And I kinda hate it. I'm looking into buying a flip for videos. I guess theres an underwater case, so you could use that for undeerwater videos.

Whenever I put my camera in movie mode to record a movie, there is no sound. A picture of a mic should come up automatically. If I record something, there is no sound. I can go in through the mode options and turn on the mic, but I have to do this every time I want to record a movie. I never used to have to do this, sound used to automatically be there whenever I switched the camera to the recording movie option and the mic symbol would already be there. I am not sure why the camera defaults now to not recording sound. The sound recorded is very low quality, it is mainly hissing and you can just about make out other sounds underneath the hissing. It sounds like it is not using the correct mic to record with. I hope this extra info is of help.
