if you know the process of installing an OS and made the proper procedures and still no success, check if your cd installer is not corrupted

check on the bios whether your Hard disk is detected or not , if detected chnage its mode native to legacy

Could you please let me know if you have MOBO/Driver CD with your Compaq Presario Laptop.

If it is then use it to install correct driver, without overwriting to previous, if any.

But if it does not help then try something else

try to set your resolution on your laptop, it have an option for proyektor setting, i've done it but now it displyed not horizontally but vertically, do you have any solution??

You have to download XP drivers from the manufacturer's website. This normally happens because your harware was designed for the new OS(Vista).

Just go to hp.com and search for the model of your Laptop.
