Occasionally throws crackeling sparks (arching?) from the center spindel that drives the rotating rack/tray. It never used to do this. I removed the spindle knob and cleaned it as best i could.......no real residue was noted. Wondering what may be causing this condition and what if anything can I do to fix it.

Its unlikely to be associated with the tuntable motor. Units are tuned to prevent arching. Therefore it appears something may have changed inside the unit. Be sure there are no loose items or bits of foil or other mateallic items inside. Also check metal turntable.

Check to make sure the Spindle that the plastic piece fits on is turning when the oven is on.
If the spindle turns, your problem is either the plastic wheel adapter is worn or not making proper contact with the spindle. You can replace th e adapter by going to Cuisinart.com.

Panasonic Microwave Model NN-H765BF will rotate occasionally and not rotate occasionally. If I manually rotate the glass plate, I can feel the gear reduction.

The turntable system typically consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

Here is a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can order parts Encompass here or call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

The turn table does not turn

Hello,

Since you didn't state the brand and model, I can only speculate that the spindle /turntable drive may be bound up or worn. Depending on the brand, you may be able to get replacemant parts to fix it but you will need to provide brand/model info on a repost.. If yoy remove the glass turnatble and the roller set... can you place a glass of water on top of the center spindle and run the micro for 20-30 seconds? While it is running.. does the glass rotate? If not... you may have a turntable drive motor failure... Need more info next time you post to assist you more accurately..

Good Luck

My above the range Maytag Microwave oven plate does not rotate. Bought a new rotator wheel as the old one was broken, and the central spindle will rotate, but not with the plate on it. What can I do?

The spindle (called a turntable shaft) sits atop a small motor shaft from the turntable motor. You either have a weak turntable motor, stripped shaft (which allows the motor shaft to free spin when it has any weight on it), or both.

The turntable motor is located under the bottom panel of the microwave oven. You do not have to uninstall the oven for this repair.

First, unplug the unit, remove the glass carousel tray, and pull straight up on the turntable shaft to remove it. Next, locate and remove the series of screws along the bottom panel underneath the oven. The bottom panel will open exposing the drive motor. The motor comes out by disconnecting the connector plug and a couple of mounting screws.

If the model number you have this listed under is correct, you can view these parts at searspartsdirect.com. Locate items 11 (turntable motor) and 14 (shaft) under the "Cavity" heading. Other sites you may try are pcappliancerepair.com, appliancepartspros.com or repairclinic.com to see if you can find these parts any cheaper.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Does the model JVK142K01 have a turntable?

If it has a 3 point spindle in the center then you just need the pyrex glass plate to fit it.
If the floor is flat then you have not a turntable microwave.

Is the spindle that the glass tray rides on rotating? If not, you may have a defective turntable motor. You will need to remove the bottom panel of the oven to access it. Repairclinic.com carries the part, but you will have to provide a more complete model number in order to narrow down the correct part. There are several model ovens listed with the model number you provided. You may also check with searspartsdirect to see if they carry the motor. The two websites have competitive pricing and sometimes the parts are cheaper at one website or the other. Post back if you need further guidance. If I'm wrong with my assumption, I will try to give you beter advice. I hope this may help you.
