First time we use it, only worked for 5 minutes. after that grill became cooler until cold but thermostat was on #5.
we turn it off, this morning we tried again and was not working at all.
thermostat light turns on, but grill does not work at all.
this is a Christmas gift, I do not have the receipt, it was bough at Macy's NYC.

Before buying new one, try with this step. Remove batteries from your remote and reset it after 5 minutes. And also remove DC wires plugged to indoor sensor display, and after 5 minutes re set it again. Now start your unit. Sometimes it will work out. Thanks.
alot of times the burner will become clogged over time, I would take off the burner and check it, it may just be a few scales have built up and you can shake it to get them out. a new burner may be your best choice.
You need a bigger, more powerful grill. It sounds like the one you have cannot keep up with the amount of food you want to cook. Other than making sure any controls are set on maximum, there's not much you can do about this. Return the unit for a refund.
