Digital camera power problem

I have a Panasonic/Lumix DMC-LS80. It had been working fine, and I hadn't used it for a few months, with no batteries stored inside it. Suddenly it's completely dead. Not a battery issue, but some problem with the camera at receiving/producing power. I'm in a foreign country, and not sure if what I'm being told at a couple of repair shops is trustworthy. I'm being told that there's a short, and that it requires a new "card" of some kind, and they're quoting me $50 or so. That doesn't seem reasonable for an $80 camera, does it?

No - you can probably replace it cheaper.

I need the software of Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 Digital Camera to tranfer photos

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Hi, How Can I Use my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80

Set it in program mode. Set sharpness and color to vivid. The movie mode is quite good on this unit with good mono audio. Color quality in movie mode is quite nice. Set it for 16X9 widescreen if you have a widescreen television. I advise shooting in widescreen all videos anyway. You can find pics from this camera on http://www.kelsci5.blogspot.com.

Where do I find the drivers for my Panasonic Lumix DMC LS80 camera

I found two drivers (noted as Grey or Blue) that allow supported OS versions to read/write to the memory card from Panasonic: http://www.panasonic.com.au/support/downloads/file_type_results.cfm?fileTypeID=1&productCategoryID=16&productID=6566 . Scroll to the bottom of the page for the zip files.

I hope this helps.

My panasonic lumix ls80 digital camera turns itsel*** as soon as i turn it on

Be sure that your batteries are fully charged and in fact using name brand rechargeable batteries. If you are using Alkalaid, make sure they are fresh. Alks after a use that runs them down will come back after awhile for some more pictures. If you have fresh batteries and the camera turns itself off after turning it on, it probably has a problem in the power supply section or the switching section on/off on a circuit board.

Lumix dmc ls80 screen turns to white screen and reads to turn camara of and on again. How can I resolve this "PLEASE HELP!!!"

I have notr seen this camera do this. Make sure your batteries are fully charged. If weak batteries are not the problem it could be an internal problem within the camera. Perhaps you should reset all your menus

Digital camera not recognised by windows vista

It may be that the drivers for the Camera are not compatible with Vista. Did you update the Vista drivers.

Can you not detect via USB cable?
