I now know that there is a electrial fault with it and the door is locked and will not release and i have dirty clothes in there has i just loaded it up to wash the clothes and it would not power on so the door locked and will not release now and i need to get the clothes out to wash ready for my kids and husband for work and school please help me thanks j callaway
Most washing machines wont let you open the door if there is still water in it. Try putting the drain hose on the ground to drain the water out and try the door again. If its a front loader, there may be a drain hose or outlet next to the filter cup. Usually down on the front of the machine.

Hi, This is a common problem with the hotpoint range. It will be the main wash bearings that have failed and need replacing. This is a very easy process but is quite time consuming. Remember tho change everything that is; Bearings, and bearing spider and front tub seal as you dont want to have to do it again in a short time or have leaks coming from the front.

I strongly advise you not to attempt this repair yourself, as it is quite involved, and unless you know what you are doing you could easily danage delicate electronic components if you are not careful.
It involves removal of the control panel , the front panel of washer, the door lock assy, and disconnection of electrical parts.
In your own interest, get some one in.
