Possibly you've had a power cut & a fuse associated with the TV has blown. Have you checked the fuse in the TV plug? If that's ok then probably a fuse internally in the TV has blown or something more serious has blown in the power supply
check first loose or broken power cord. if ok, what you can do is look for the power supply board look for blown fuse sometimes due to voltage fluctuation the fuse get blow.
Sounds like a transformer or choke that has loose windings and they are resonating, you can pull the back and put small amounts of silicone on those components or replace the power board
This sounds like a problem with the power supply. Usually capacitors on the power supply board tend to dome, bulge,or dry up. The damaged ones can be seen on the power supply circuit board when the back is removed. The dry ones have to be removed and tested. The caps can be replaced at a repair shop for around $200, but if the power supply board has to be replaced it can cost a little more. It all depends on the shops repair fees.
Do you have "standby" power? In other words, does the set click or buzz when you try to power up using either the remote or the front panel?...accordianman
I have the same problem with my My LC-42D62U
WHen i watch certain DVDs, (so far it happened on SAW III and RUNNING SCARED)
during certain parts of those movies my TV will turn off and i cant turn it back on unless i unplug it and plug it back in. It only turns off on specific parts in the movie, i have no idea why...like the same exact parts...so i pretty much have to pause the movie with my remote once my TV turns off then when i power the TV on again just resume the movie and its fine...but if i rewind to that part again it'll power off again
SAW III only had one part like that....but RUNNING SCARED had about 3-4
