How do i set my hdtv zoom on a westinghouse tv ld model 3240
I received this tv for christmas. When viewing in HD I cannot get rid of the gray bars at the top and bottom of the screen and I cannot get thd HD zoom to work on my cable remote.

I have owned my Westinghouse SK-32H240s for about 18 months now, and I ... Youwon't be certain if you are getting the right firmware or the complete firmware. .....makes it stop for a while, the same as it may with a weak antenna signal. .... would just go nuts and display a bunch of colored bars vertically.

Look for any jammed button on your remote or on the TV. Just recheck on the settings and if necessary change it to factory default settings. If you have problem still, switch off TV, switch off Power and remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
Using the remote go to the menu for the TV. Look for picture or aspect ratio. Make sure it is set to 16:9 and not zoom or auto. That should clear the problem up.

if you using the component input on both tvs I will check the settings on the receivers, "HD setup", the difference is because the settings are set one on 480i and the other on 1080i
