I have new olympus 850SW with the required Olympus xD picture card, 1 GB & can't access the in camera panorama...I know I did it once but it is grayed out now - only pano on PC available...I've read for hours on the web & the only fix is to have proper picture card, which I do.

To access the panorama mode in the camera you need to be in P mode.

To set the P mode you need to press the Ok button right arrow to P for Program Auto and press Ok. Then as long as you are using an Olympus xD card you should be able to go to menu and highlight the Panorama option.

How to activate panorama?

Panorama shooting lets you create a panoramic picture, using the OLYMPUS
Master software from the provided CD-ROM. An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for Panorama shooting. If the card is a Fuji xD card then the panorama feature would be disabled to you.

Xd card type

A Fuji card can be used in the camera; the only function that will be disabled is if you wish to take panorama shots with the camera. Panorama in the Olympus cameras is proprietary therefore in order to shoot panorama shots Olympus requires that you specifically use their xD picture card. Otherwise the Fuji card will work just fine.

Hello, i can't get the in-camera panorama options available. i have a 2gb memory card inside with 310 pictures left (on fine picture and 8mb size). What do i do?

make sure the camera is in P mode for panorama... press the ok button and change from auto to p mode. also for panorama, it does require an Olympus xD card.

Panoramic Pictures

If I remember my last Olympus camera it would only work in Panorama mode with an official Olympus memory card. No third party cards would enable that feature. My instructions read "An Olympus xD-Picture Card is required for panorama shooting." If you are using an official Olympus xD-Picture card, there may be a problem with your camera.
