Hi I have a Blanco dishwasher BFDw8 which is having poor wash results in the top tray I have tried all the trouble shooting things in manual. Investigated further by opening door during wash cycle several times and discovered the top arm is not moving although water is still coming out of the arms. I did get a split pea particle out of the arm approx 2mm and have since had a mildly better wash and have used superior wash powder and rinse aid to try and help. Also have put a cleaner through dishwasher still have grainy finish on top shelf items. Arm is free to move. Can you help Merrilyn

  1. Check the water temperature. Should be 125 to 140 F.
  2. Check pump re-circulation., Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.
  3. Check water level when the fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
  4. Check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks.
  5. Check to make sure dishwasher is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom of the tub.
  6. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
  7. Possibly try a different detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.
Scrape away large pieces of food, bones, pits, toothpicks, etc. Burned on food should be loosened before loading. Empty liquids from glasses and cups. Foods such as mustard, mayonnaise, vinegar, lemon juice and tomato products may cause discoloration of stainless steel and plastics if allowed to sit for a long period of time. Unless the dishwasher is to be operated at once, it is best to rinse off these food soils. Load racks so that large items do not prevent the detergent dispenser from opening. If the dishwasher drains into a food disposer, be sure disposer is completely empty before starting the dishwasher.

If your dishwasher has worked fine in the past but, suddenly, your dishes aren't clean after the dishwasher completes all cycles:

1) Check your water heater's temperature dial to be sure it hasn't been changed recently.

2) Be sure dishes haven't prevented the detergent dispenser from opening properly during the wash cycles or kept the spray arms from turning, the lower arm from rising, or the spray from reaching the upper rack's dishes.

3) During the wash cycle, listen to the spray arm spinning inside. If it seems to be spinning poorly, clean out the spray holes in the spray arm(s) with a stiff piece of wire; wait for the machine to cool, and then remove the spray arm(s) by unscrewing the hub cap and lifting the arm(s) off.

I have the same issue - the top arm is not moving. I have cleaned everything and now the arm just falls off! I am wondering if there was a o-ring missing from where the arm joins the water inlet. Can't find a spare parts diagram that includes what I need...

I have a miele advanta g2170scvi dishwasher. it has three problems -- the top washing arm comes off its base every few washes; it doesnt clean well and there is an odor coming from the dw even tho i have...

Hi dear. Please do the following try to solve the issues. Please clean the bottom & upper spray arm. They must been blocked. That makes a lot of water pressure on top spray arm & it comes off. Also blocked spray arms resulting poor wash performans. With the odour, check the drain pump. It's non return valve. It should work properly. Also check for siphoning. That can cause bad odour. Please click the link below for meore help from it's user manual.Section: Cleaning & Care Page 42. I hope that helps.Thanks.

Poor cleaning

Check inlet water pressure. Clean the strainer attached to the machine body!

If every thing is OK check the pump.

Dishes on top shelf, usually cups and glasses, not washing correctly. Have tried rinsing cl eanser to no avail

Hi,

Probably a blocked spray arm. Remove the top spray arm and check and clean all the holes as this is where the water sprays out from to clean the dishes and glasses. When they are blocked you get poor wash results. Might also be worth checking the other 2 spray arms at the same time.

Dishwasher doesnt wash top rack ....model 665 1352k700...ser fu4706403

HI,

YOU WILL PROBABLY FIND THE TOP SPRAY ARM IS BLOCKED WITH FOOD. UNSCREW THE SPRAY ARM AND MAKE SURE ALL THE SMALL HOLES ARE CLEAR OF ANY BLOCKAGES AS THIS IS WHERE THE WATER COMES OUT OF TO WASH THE PLATES.IF THESES ARE BLOCKED THEN YOU GET POOR WASH RESULTS

Dishes in upper tray coming out not so clean!

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher.

Please do rate this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

TOP DRAWER WHEN LOADED, DOES NOT GET WASHED

top tray not washing properly and tablets not dissolving are linked. On my FDW60 same problem was down to the top tray not being pushed fully home (tendency to use closing the door to push top home). This meant the flap of the tablet 'hatch' was stopped from fully opening by the tray, also poor water pressure to drive the rotating sparge bar on the underside of the top tray.
Be sure to push the top tray all the way home BEFORE closing the door, aaannd SPENT!
