Well you have to remove the whole assembly

With a 30mm deep socket , remove the axle nut, do this before jacking the car up...

Then jack the car up and remove the wheel.

Then the tie rod end , brake caliper and lower ball joint.

Remove the cross bolt and brake hose bolt on the strut.

pull the assembly off of the strut.

The you need a press to press the old bearing out after you remove the inner snap ring.

press the new bearing in and install a new outer seal and a new snap ring.

reassemble and if you are using a new hub pull it onto the bearings with the axle nut

I doubt the manual would help on this issue. FIRST, be certain it is the rear main seal. EVERYTHING that leaks winds up there...Way more common is intake and valve cover leaks, and they drip at rear main area...

If rear main is the issue, you have to pull the trans for access.

Did you check timing pull number 1 plug. bring the piston up to tdc on the compression stroke pull the distributor cap and see if it pointing to where the number 1 wire is if not lined up you've have jumped timing

If you mean that when you adjust the tensioner to put the belt on, and you still don't have enough slack to get the belt on....try loosening the the alternator.

for 2003, it looks like it's by the grille & rt front fender. Check your owner manual for fuel shutoff inertia switch

The freeze plugs can be fixed with the engine in the veicle. There are some rubber plugs available that have a bolt thru the middle. Pry out failed plug, push in rubber replacement, tighten bolt to expand rubber. Fixed.

The Ford is similar to the Chevy. Same procedures apply. Same retaining bolt in center section needs to be removed to allow cross shaft to come out. Same technique in removing spider gears. Same "C-clip" retainers on axle ends. you shouldn't have any issues.
