Trying to make the mp3s be used as ringtones - Samsung SYNC SGH-A707 Cellular Phone

From what I have read HTC has mad this phone to where it is not possible to make your own personal mp3s as your ringtone. They made it to where you have to download the ringtone from the marketplace to your phone.

You have to transfer the tone to the tones folder to access it as a ringtone. It may not recognize the file as a ringtone in another folder.

There is no problem with the phone, no need to reflash it. Your having that error message because the MP3 files that you are trying to use is copy right protected. Some of them will allow you to use it for a certain period of time, might as well use a different MP3 file without this protection.

Absolutely. Simply edit the contact and change the ringtone for that contact.

If you want to use custom ring-tones, you can create these on your phone. For MP3s, you may need to unlock the phone first.

you can downloads ringtons from various websites who provides the free ringtones to download in your computer as well as in mobiles.
search for free ringtones download sites.

you need to add the contacts to your phone memory and not the sim card...then assign different ringtones to each contact

You can use a FREE program for the palm OS called minitones, you can yahoo or google it, which will allow you to convert mp3s you have on your SD card or on the phone to a ringtone that you can assign to a contact. minitones.prc

it's because the sync can only use mp3s for an actuall ringtone..for anything else it's .mmfs. i know what you're thinkin...riiipofffff.
