Training Center won't save data

I can transfer the data from the wrist unit to the Training Center but when I close the training center and re-open it the new information has not been saved. Any suggestions? I have backed-up the information and then re-installed the Training Center but it still isn't working? It was fine until a month ago when we re-installed everything on the whole computer.

Have same problem with Garmin Edge 305. Seems to me like Training Center software, which is a pretty unimpressive piece of work.

Are you using the original CD?

I had something similar happen when I upgraded my Wife's software. I ended up lossing all her history. I had to do a Windows restore to regain the information.
I then backed up her data and tried again. Same thing and the back up files would not work either.
If I used the original CD that came with the unit all was fine. But as soon as I tried the new version of the training center all was lost.
I didn't try to transfer data while all this was happening. I was too scared to try as I didn't want to lose what she had on the unit it'sself. So I'm not entirely sure if this will help you or not but definitely use the original CD that came with your unit.

Garmin has moved everything to Garmin Connect. Depending on your device, Training Center may or may not be supported anymore. You can go to the link to read more on Garmin Connect. Also, Garmin now uses Garmin Express to sync and update devices. I'll attach the link. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express

How do you transfer 305 history to a new computer?

If you go into the Garmin Training center software under "File" you should see "Export". On some versions there is a Back up as well.

If you go into the Export and Export everything, Work outs, History, and Courses (all seperatly) you should be able to save these files to a USB stick. Using the USB stick you should then be able to "Import" these files to the new PC. Obviously you will need to install the Training Center onto your new PC first.

You can contact your local service center by going to www.nike.com/timing and clicking on "service centers. They should be able to either repair it for yoy or give you a local dealer who can.

Missing training data from my Garmin 305....

Unless you created a "back up file" with the Training Center software unfortunatly you will not be able to retrieve the data.

Regular back ups will insure you do not lose information in the future.

To back up your data in the Training Center go to "File" and "Back up" I believe the early version of the Training Center did not have the Back up feature so you would then need to use the "File" Export" option.

Garmin gps60 connected to PC

You have the USB cable but what software? Have you got the MapSource CD? If not, there's a free and legal workaround. Download the free Garmin Training Center (from Garmin site), open it to check it works, close it then download the Mapsource update file, also from Garmin site. You'll now have MapSource and can uninstall Training Center. You'll need maps though - depending where you are there's some free maps otherwise get a Garmin map to make it easier to plan trips.

Garmin 305 not communicating with Training Center

I am new to the Garmin Edge 305, and started getting this problem yesterday. Indeed, yesterday it was the first time that I downloaded Courses.

I followed the Guest solution, deleted all new courses from my Garmin, and it now WORKs!!!!

Uploading my courses back again to the Garmin made the problem return back. I need some more work to identify the bad course.

Computer has a problem communicating with my forerunner 205

I just got off the phone with garmin tech. She helped me solve the problem. Here are the steps.

1. Go to http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00466-00

2. Download "Forerunner 205 Ver. 2.80 as of Nov 12, 2007", unzip it, and browse to the folder you unzip the files to.

3. Make sure your Forerunner is connected to your computer and turn it on. Drag file "048401000280.rgn" and drop it on "Updater.exe". A screen will pop up, select "USB" then click OK. Then wait till the process completes.

4. Go to the website on Step 1 and download "Training Center For Windows Ver. 3.3.4 as of Feb 29, 2008". Install it.

5. Run Training Center. At this point, I am able to send/receive data to my Forerunner.

Hope this helps!
