-I have bought N73 since 2 years.
-It was working good until its screen was broken.
-I have replaced the screen (in a Nokia Center).
-After receiving it back, it worked fine for sometime.
-Next day I found the screen was all black with colored horizontal lines.
-I went back Nokia center, gave it back to me,but the same problem happens again.
-So the screen sometimes works fine and sometimes not...
-They (at last) said that my mobile is "not fixable".
-When I took it back,I discovered that the "Power save mode" is the reason for the screen going black....
-So I disabled power save mode and it worked fine for 7 days.
-But the power save mode was on again (probably after a format),and the screen went black again.
-I do not know what made/makes it operate normally after "Black Screen"..
-If the screen become normal again I will disable the "Power Save Mode" forever, and it will work fine....But How I make it works normally again..
-Any suggestions??
Are u sure that ur not able to see the fone's stand by screen now?its totally black?are u sure that there's no problem with the screen itself,the care guys might have left the screen connection loose. other wise try one thing,Format ur fone. by pressing *#7370# u have press keys once wait for 5 seconds and press the left selectin key [where u get the YES option normally. the fone would restart and lets see are u able to go back on the screen. IF YES then u can set the Sleep mode to off cuz the sleep mode gets inititated after 20 minutes when u keep ur fone idle means u dont operate ur fone for atleast 20 minutes. BUT IN THIS CASE ULL LOSE ALL UR DATA INCLUDING CONTACTS AND MESSAGES ETC.IF U HAVENT TAKEN THE BACK UP EARLIER.so its totally upto u that u want to proceed with this step or u can again show ur fone to the nokia care guys. but they'll charge u cuz obviously after 2 years ur fone is out of warranty
no no the sleep doesnt do anything with the hardware... the sleep function just acts like the sleep mode in PC and laptops.and man,how can u be so sure that the sleep mode is the reason?the screen goes black and the led blinks because the screen will not use any battery when the fone is idle.if ur not using ur fone for 20 minutes then it automatically puts it in sleep mode [if ON] to save battery but it doesnt make ne effect. so no need to put it on sleep mode. well if u could confirm me that did u hard reset it?i mean did u use the conventional code *#7370# or some other method?cuz there's another method too which is:-
make sure the fone battery is full.
press green button [call button], number 3, and the * button, left side of number zero..
don't let go of the three button, and put the power on..
JUST DON'T LET IT GO.. [that is u have to hold all the four buttons and dont let go off the buttons.]
then after a few seconds or a minute the phone will ask your location.this is the hard format i think this should solve it.. and about the nokia care guys,u should ask dem for a proper reason. they just cant lay u off by saying that they cant fix it..ask them for a reason. wat i feel strongly is that the problem is with the screen it self.. the connector is not working properly.. i know that u might have to invest again so try asking them to change the screen again.

Sorry... I did not mean "Power Saver Mode"
But I was talking about "Sleep Mode"...the one where the blue led is on and off
-I have already tried formatting it...
-I hesitate that it is a bad connector,What the sleep mode does with hardware??
-Nokia people said to me "we can not fix your phone".... how come I go to them again?
-I need at least an analysis for the problem...
-I feel it is lack of energy driven to the LCD...When I increase the brightness the colored lines number are decrease(The black space increase)...
-In sleep mode the power is cut of the display, so it faults!!

Hello I also have a nokia n73 and i also have problems with my screen.after about 20min when it goes into sleep mode it just gives a black screen with horizontal and vertical color lines,now i did take it to a repair shop (nokia repair center) and the guys told me there that its a virus making it do that.is it possible or is it the screen that is fualty??
