My canon powershot A530 WONT TURN ON!!!!

I have a powershot a530 and the damn thing just wont turn on! I have tried everything but the it just wont even make a noise. I think that it has something to do with the power but just don't yet!

HELP ME!

    camera never used just bought it new but will just not turn on

    I have the SAME problem!! I have tried new batteries as well, and it won't turn on AT ALL! The lense is extended, too, because it just shut off on me one day while I was taking pics and the lense just stayed extended. I have no idea what to do!!

Check the batteries, and if they are bad, replace them. If it has rechargable batteries, just get rid of them and try regular alkaline batteries. That should be the fix.

Canon Power shot A530 repeatedly displays "change
First make sure that you are using quality batteries, and not "super heavy duty". If so, some of The Canon Powershot A530 and A540 cameras are subject to an advisory recall. Seems that a small spring on the battery compartment door can short out the batteries. Suspect this of yours, in that you mention that your batteries aren't lasting long. If your camera is on the list, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please see this link for more info.

How do I take a picture with the date and time stamp in the picture
The date stamp only works in "Postcard" resolution. Press the "Func Set" button, then scroll down to the bottom to select postcard resolution.

Then press the menu button. Select the "Camera" menu, then scroll down to the the Date Time Stamp selection to turn it on.
