the tv automaticly determines if it should go to 3D mode as long as the DVD player or say like PS3 or PS4 is connected to HDMI (yes those two game consoles will support HD Blueray 3D and DVD 3D movies) if the TV isnt displaying 3D look into the video settings of your TV to enable that ability also your TV will come with 3D glasses if the TV supports 3D
When I looked at the specifications for the UN40D5500, that TV doesn't have a 3D video option. It does allow for 3D audio on the digital audio signal. The UN40D5550 has 3D video. To toggle through the 3D settings, press Menu on the remote (in the center of the row above the arrow toggles) and use the down arrow to go to the Picture sub-menu. Press Enter then with the arrows go to 3D and press Enter. Under 3D Mode, you can toggle with the left and right arrows through Off, 3D, 2D upconverted to 3D, side by side images or two images stacked one over the other. Press Enter to save the setting. Press Menu several times to exit the menu system.
If you do have the UN40D5500 and are trying to disable the 3D audio, press Menu and go to the Audio sub-menu. Then look under the digital audio options (SPDIF).
1) you must try again, replace the batteries with new one. 2) if doesnot work call the LG ,company go www.lg.com and get support online via chat, and ask them about your problem. Most of the time is the Microcontroller section, for VCC +RST+CLOCK problem, this is a difficult for normal persons to test, you must go to the repair shop TV as another option,if the LG company fail. God bless you
The prob.is ur covergence.Go to menu setup look for convergence, see no convergence.U have an open Fuse(FL231)lacated right side of the Flyback Transformer. There are 3 in a roll small brown rectangle looking caps, but they are fuses. The one in the middle is dead.
This is a convergence problem and is either bad connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you feel that you can solder, you should be able to repair this yourself. First try resoldering the pins on the convergence ICs. If that fails, replace the ICs. These ICs are large black ICs attached to a heatsink and should be marked STKxxx.
Keep us posted.
