In fact, it is pretty close to the D6500 color temperature that our calibration shoots for. Be sure that you are changing the AutoMotion Plus feature settings depending on the programming you are watching. That is one of the most important things to keep in mind. With most programming you will want to turn it off or at least the De-judder portion. With 3D really does see a benefit from this, so you may want to leave it on. The Color Space needs no adjustments for a good calibration.

Do you get sound? If sound is also not there, it is the power supply which needs to be looked into. If sound is there, it is the inverter section which needs to be checked.

Two things to consider which will answer this question.

1. The voltage source must be if set from USA 110-120 volts out of the wall outlet (I think it will be but check) and if not you will need a converter that converts that voltage to the USA voltage.

2. Since the transmission format in USA is NTSC and it is PAL there you will need a set top box that converts PAL to NTSC.
( Google PAL to NTSC converter to see those.)

Thats it.

The best way to set up a TV such as yours without a calibration device is to get a high definition picture of someone's face on the screen and adjust the color, brightness and contrast until the face looks as life like as possible.

You may have dying power supply module which can be due to bad caps. It will get worst and can cause more damage to the set. It can also be due to poor soldr joints.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

Is your tv back light on.If yes then you need to update softwear.It can dowload Lg site by given model number.

Have you tried another cable or checked to see if the existing one is pushed fully in? This can sometimes be the cause of what you've described.

Adjust backlight respectively asin the brighter the room the higher the backlight setting the darker the room the lower if you go below 16(if the room is totally dark, turn backlight to 0 and bump up brightness 3 or 4.

p.s. the cinema setting is pretty darn good for out of box calibrations just turn off high contrast, colors, tru motion for normal non 100% computer generated movies for example, finding nemo and the rest of the animated movies look excellent with tru motion regular film is too video like it looks like soaps to me but hey you may like it so whatever floats ur boat do you have blu ray player, well if ur going to get one get the bdps350 as it does 24fps excellent and well so does your tv it actually uses 5:5 pulldown which is great. (leave tru motion off when feeding 24fps/ real cinema!)Great tv pick dont follow the hype lg is a good brand. lol no i dont work for lg just sick of the sony, samsung, sharp fans. As far as lcd goes lg70 is it right now. I didnt calibrate for sd but i would say they should be pretty close honestly. ill check when i get time.
