99 pontiac sunfire thermostat

thermostat does not go there follow these directions .follow the hose and pipe underneath the engine, the pipe will turn upward to the thermostat cover. Raise the hood and remove three bolts and cover over the manifold. Look down through the manifold railings and you will see the thermostat housing. Use a number 8 socket and long extension and remove the two 8 mm. bolts connecting the pipe to the housing, The pipe will drop down, if you have removed the hose and bolt under the bottom of the engine. Move the pipe over so you can see the thermostat. Use a stiff wire, bent and stuck through top of thermostat, pull upward and remove thermostat.

Cant locate my thermosta

FOR EITHER ENGINE(2.2I4 OR 2.7LV6) THE THERMOSTAT IS LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE ENGINE ABOVE THE TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING, AND NO IT IS NOT VERY HARD TO CHANGE. YOU WILL HOWEVER NEED TO REMOVE THE AIR INTAKE TUBE AND POSSIBLY THE AIR FILTER BOX TO GAIN ACCESS
