SOURCE: Frozen iPod nano

try to put the ipod into disk mode, while connected to PC, perform first hard reset by holding select and menu buttons until it restarts, when quickly change to pressing select and play buttons, then it must go into disk mode, will sync with PC and must show in iTunes, perform restore function to reformat the memory

I pod is frozen in Synchronizing plugged in and out and back into

Have you already attempted to reset the iPod?
If not you will want to attempt that as your first step towards resolving this issue.
To do so you will need to simply press and hold both the center and menu buttons for at least ten seconds or until the apple icon appears on the screen.
If this does not resolve your issue please do let me know.
Also in the future if the iPod seems to be frozen on the do not disconnect screen, shut down the computer and reset the iPod before disconnecting it. Improper disconnection can cause hardware corruption.

I reset the phone now the apple icon is on screen and is frozen ?

Try connecting it to your computer and doing a restore from iTunes. You can restore to your last backup to restore call history, app data, etc.

I pod touch

Hi K,

Has it frozen? Does the Standby button work? Does the touch screen work? If the answers to these questions are No-Yes-Yes (as I am assuming they will be based on the little info you've already provided) then it is a hardware problem with the Home button and needs returning to Apple for replacement (They wont fix it, they'll just do a swap over of the entire device as it's 'brand new')

All the best

Ipod nano 8GB 3rd generation FROZEN!

First make sure your hold switch isn't on. It's on the top or bottom and slides back and forth. It needs to be switched to the left. Once it is to the left, here's how you reset:

You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will shut off, then back on.
