Hi contact,

You may need to reformat you hdd. Is the fdisk operation something you want to try. You can set up partitions and install os to a particular partition. Just a thought.

My laptop wnt boot up no matter safe mode or the other start menu's what am i to do

Do you have an external CD or DVD drive to plug into it? If so, and if you have a Windows installation disk, you can boot from the disk and do a chkdsk scan on the drive to make sure the drive doesn't have errors. If the drive doesn't have errors, you'll need to do a rebuild of the operating system.

If the drive did have errors and chkdsk says it fixed them, try booting into windows again.

If it still won't boot, do the OS rebuild.

If it reports there is no hard drive, you've got bigger issues and will need to have the unit repaired.

2 try an external CD drive if your BIOS alows to boot from USB drive....(connect the external CD drive to the USB and make necessary changes to the BIOS boot seq in the BIOS screen...
BIOS screen can be enabled by pressing the F1, or F2 or the Del key as on as you start the PC
3 once in BIOS screen look for boot seq and change the boot drive to the foll
1st boot device - USB CD / DVD rom drive
2nd boot device - internal CD rom drive
and so on

if you can do the above then try the WinXP installation using the external CD rom drive....
else there is a little complicated method of using a pen drive thru USB (will discuss that later) provided your BIOS alows booting from USB

How can i reformat my Blue IL1 notebook?? i think it has a virus... it doesn't continue loading, it restart when it reaches the windows xp logo... thanks for the help

Hello, you relly need to reformat it you can use an os installer suach as linux or windows using a usb flash drive, but you have to transfer the installer cd to the usb drive by using the wintoflash application. Once you've done that now you can reformat and install os in your notebook using your usb flash drive.

XP is corrupt and needs re-install. DVD drive is dead. Can I boot from a USB stick and are there specific settings (I tried using default settings for WinsetupfromUSB - boots to my Dell D530 - nothing on...

it would be easier to use an external dvd/cd drive if in case your internal dvd drive is defective. thereon, you can start re-installing the XP OS using the external dvd/cd drive. hope this will help your problem. thanks

Trying to boot from external dvd drive

u must either have one of the foll...to boot and install OS...also the seq in BIOS must be availabe and enabled
1 Floppy
2 CD Rom Drive - internal
3 CD Rim Drive - External connected thru USB
4 You can also try to connect a USB pen drive having the OS install program and try - I have not tried that so not sure if this option works...sorry
5 If u can open the machine then u can connect another internal HD(this can contain ur OS install files) to the cable (connector points in the flat cable) that connect your internal HD to the Motherboard.

if i can think of anything else i will post
all the best

Ways to load OS

External Floppy disk drive or External CD/DVD drive. Might be easier to just replace the internal drive.

I don´t have internal cd, only external(usb)

You will need an internal CD drive for the machine in order to load XP. If it doesn't recognize the external in the boot menu, then there is no setting to get it to.

Laptop won't boot from external CD drive yet internal one is unresponsive

if you want to boot a cd e.g windows xp os disk then you have to go to the bios by pressing del or f2 or f8 ot f10 depending on the motherboard you use. try to find boot option -> boot priority or first boot device.if you find boot priority then select cdrom as first priority . if you find first boot option then also select cd rom. sometime if your disk is not bootable then it won't boot.
