LCD screen is completley white

I can't use the LCD screen at all on this camcorder, it is completely white.

Connecting wire (harness / flexible) between lcd board and main board of camera seems broken.
If you want to repair at yourself, let me know to provide you further info like part number etc.

    Ok, below is picture showing what part you need to replace in camera.



    { 106 " A-7112-895-A " FP-890 BOARD, COMPLETE } This part is available at Part Store and price is approx $28

    Be Care Full while opening camera as this requires technical skills.

    Need further info, let me know please.

The image in the viewfinder is now black and white and the LCD screen doesn't work
iam very sorry that you have this problem.When an LCD screen of DSRPD170P stops working it means that you have to get a replacement LCD screen. The replacement requires a qualified technical person. if you have such a person , then here are the details for ordering the LCD screen parts:
A-7078-956-A PD-217 board complete.
8-753-209-13 ACX500ENA
1-517-931-21 Tube fluorescent cold cathode.

Please note that the viewfinder of the DSR PD170 camera is always manufactured and supplied as black and white (not colour) so this is not a fault!

LCD Screen
Replace the Ribbon Wire between the Mini DV unit and the lcd screen. Samsung wanted $136 to repair same issue for me. Screen started with colored lines eventually going to white lines and finally screen went completely black and stayed black. I replaced the Ribbon Wire after purchasing a copy of the systems schematics and repair manuel online. With total cost of everything i bought to make this repair I saved a little over $115 from what Samsung wanted for the same repair.

I have the same problem and it goes away when i completely flip the display. It looks like the inside ribbon cable need to be replaced.

Do you have a picture showing in the viewfinder when the LCD is closed? If not, it's a bad CCD and I believe Canon will fix that for free if you call customer service.
