Aligning Print Head Alignment

When printing a photo using Canon Photo Glossy, my pictures print very faded with a greenish/yellowish tint. Based on Canon troubleshooting, I uninstalled driver card, reinstalled it. No difference. I then uninstalled printer, reinstalled, no difference. When aligning the printer cartridge, I see A,B, C, F, G, H, J AND K. I do not see D, E, or I. Also, they blocks are not solid. They are all have lines in the them. So it is hard to determine which is aligned the best. (i.e., +/- 1 or +/- 2, etc.) Any suggestions? Print Head Alignment check fails to print column E

Try printing a diagnostic page without the PC, if it prints normal then the problem is on the PC, probably drivers or possibly the printer queue configuration. If it prints the same faded fashion then I would suspect defective or clogged inkjet nozzles. Warning, be very precise with the buttons you push, you are entering the printers diagnostic mode and you can cause problems if you push buttons out of sequence or if you push them too many times. - Start with the printer off. - Hold down the resume button and then hold down the power button - Release the resume button - Press the resume button twice, then release the power button. - Let green light blink while the printer enters the diagnostic mode. - When the printer is done press the function button once to enter the print diagnostic page mode, then the power button once to start the job. - When the page finishes press the power button once to exit the diagnostic mode. My pictures all seem to print with a yellowish / orange tint; they also seem brighter than on the screen.

You need to make sure you are not using the photo magenta, your printer doesn't use photo magenta and it leaves the prints green. You need also to run the nozzle check print by holding the resume button until the green light flashes twice, and see if all colors are printed. If not you need a new printhead, the part number is on the side.

Assuming that you are using original Canon cartridges or a brand of Compatibles that you have used before.

If print results are blurred, colors are faded or not printed correctly, the pint head nozzles are probably clogged.

Follow the procedure below to print the nozzle check pattern, check the print head nozzle condition, then clean the Print Head. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times.

If printed ruled lines are misaligned or print results are otherwise unsatisfactory, aligning the Print Head may improve print quality.

Caution Do not rinse or wipe the Print Head and ink tanks. This can cause trouble with the Print Head and ink
tanks.

Note Before performing maintenance
Open the Top Cover and make sure that all lamps on the ink tanks are lit red.
If not, see Checking the Ink Status and take an appropriate action.
Increasing the print quality in the printer driver settings may improve the print result.

Photo printing problems

Try to manually clean the printer head. Take a cotton cloth and dab a little bit of alcohol (like whiskey) and then clean the printer head & the cartridges with it. Do remember it is a delicate process and if you messup, you might damage the printer/cartridges. So be careful & lemme know the result.
