Sony Wega Trinitron TV image has shrunk?

Check its main power regulator section circuit for any loose solder terminals. Low power regulator voltage output is the problem to your TV.

My tv screen shrunk in from the sides

Ok, you have a problem in the Horizontal output circuit--width etc.

Going to be a shop repair as most shops will not tackle this in the home--36 inch from the model indicated so expect repair to exceed 150 parts and labor.

If the border is not large on both sides the set also has a tech menu accessed with the remote--adjustments are there for centering and width--it will not fix a circuit problem.

Black borders

If you cannot adjust the screen resolution then install the latest video driver and then adjust the screen resolution to 1024X768.
Download the video and device drivers from the Acer WEB site. Makesure you select the model of your laptop the drivers you that require thatmatches the Windows version that is installed on your laptop. Use this link toget to the Acer support: -

My computer's all windows screen has suddenly shrunk today with a black border in right and left side. Now how can I get ride of this problem and make my windows screen normal again?

It's probably the monitor either was adjusted or is having a problem.

Use the buttons on the monitor to adjust the horizontal width on the screen...This should stretch your windows display across the screen if you adjust properly. Most monitors also have an auto adjust option...you can try that too.

I can't tell you exactly what the menu options are, because I don't know the buttons on your monitor. but if you find the menu, you should be able to make the adjustment.

Good Luck

HELP! Laptop screen has shrunk... black border on screen.

Big Lebowski - this refers to an issue with a laptop.
No CRT on a laptop.
It is more likely a driver issue.
Go to dell.com, look for support, put in your service tag & update the graphics drivers.

Screen resolution change = black border around small screen

Once you change the resolution to a smaller size and you see the black border, go into the monitor's menu and there should be settings for the Horizontal and Vertical size/position. Adjust those until it looks correct.

I hope this helps :)

Black borders on either side of creen

Is it a laptop or desktop?

If laptop, check it's not in 4:3 mode Usually pressing the FN and one of the "F-keys" does it. The key will have an image that shows the borders like on your screen.
If it's a desktop, check in your display settings. have you got the resolution set correctly?

Screen display size on Thinkpad A22p

your system might have damaged the systems video drivers and reverted to legacy.
try to re-install the display drivers again.
if you look in the system/device manager for the display it may just say vga , which can only give you 800x600 native mode.
if you right click on the desktop /properties
advanced /display adapter it should have the name of your video card.

C840 resolution difficulties...

The type of screen you have is a UXGA screen. the optimal resolution for that is 1600 x 1200. changing the resolution for that will distort the screen causing black borders. If a computer has a 15.0+" SXGA+ screen with an optimized resolution of 1400x1050 and the screen's current resolution is set to 1280x1024 pixels, the display will shrink resulting in a black border surrounding the edges of the screen. Also, all other lower resolutions may be stretched to fit the screen. No border will be visible, but fonts may appear slightly fuzzy.
