Hello
There is a loading belt that fastened with a loading motor pulley, which gets the CD tray in and out. If this belt or the loading motro has trouble, the CD tray wont cole out, or load in properly. You have to check and find out which part is faulty. In normal cases, replacing the loading belt will rectify this problem. OK.

SOURCE: cd drawer will not open. Crosley CR248 unit

Yes, there is i've done it before. You have to either open the back or the bottom it depends what cd player you have. then you will see the cartridge with the CD on it, take a thin long objects or something sticky and pull gently on the CD. It may take sometime but if you do it right the CD will com out with no scratch.

How do I get the cassette draw to open on my Crosley Songwriter CD Recorder CR248?

Inside the unit probably is a small rubber belt which will operate the draw, it has possibly fell off or snapped. It will just need to be replaced. Look on e-bay for a replacement belt. You can get loads of different sizes cheap from China.

How to manually open eject Crosley CR248 CD drawer

  1. Uh, I think you already have a solution but the following may help someone else.
  2. Ensure that the device is powered on.
  3. Press the "Function" button (28/58) to set the unit to CD mode.
  4. Press the "Open/Close" button (19/48) to open the CD drawer.
  5. Insert a CD into the tray with the label side facing up.
  6. Press the "Open/Close" button again to close the CD drawer.
If the above steps don't work, you can try the following:
  1. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
  2. Wait for a few minutes.
  3. Plug the device back in.
  4. Press the "Open/Close" button to see if the CD drawer opens.
If the drawer still doesn't open, there might be a mechanical issue with the device. Look for the Fixya advise referred to above. If if that doesn't work, in that case, it's best to contact Crosley's customer support for further assistance.

Cd drawer won't open

Chances are a small belt has come off. Very easy to replace if you can get inside it!

Cd drawer will not open

Sometimes the cause is a belt that has either broken or come off. If you need a new one just measure the diameter of the old one in MM. The put that into Google with the words "drive belt" and find the one close to your stated size.

Cd drawer wont open cr248 songwriter

I have the Crosley CR247 which is the same except for style. I had same problem.
The CD drawer stuck and would not open. It made sounds like it was trying. I could not find any information on a solution, but from what I had been reading on other CD Drawer problems, it sounded to me like there had to be a manual emergency release somewhere. Could not see one anywhere on the unit, so I took a butter knife and inserted in the crack just below the tray. I slide the knife from left to right and just very gently ppressed around with it. When I had it over to the far left hand side moving it over just about an inch and a half to two inches, I just slid the knife from side to side and it opened. Sorry, I am not a mechanic or do not know how to fix things, so this is the best that I can do to explain where the emergency release is located. My little rubber belt drive looked good, so that wasnt the problem. I just opened and closed my drawere about five or six times before I felt that it was safe to stick CD in. I don't use it much, maybe that was the problem. The trick is getting the darn door open first so that you can see if it is the belt drive or not. Good Luck to anyone with the same problem.
