Question about RCA D61W20 61" Rear Projection Television
There may be bad capacitors on the deflection board. They are the round cylindrical things with shiny tops. You will need to pull the board out to see them. Make sure they aren't bulged or leaking. You may also have a dead high voltage circuit. If you aren't experienced in electronics then I would leave it to a professional because there are high voltages on this part.

There are a number of things that could cause this.
Starting with the simple diagnosis and moving onto more difficult problems:
1.) Check the On / off button is not sticking. If it does not free up after pressing it, the laptop will shut off. cleaning the area with some meths or isopropyl alcohol will help free it (laptop unplugged)
2.) If there is a small cut off switch (located just below the screen where the lid hinges close, see that it is not sticking, this causes the aptop to shut down if the lid is closed.
3.) Next, check to see if it will work plugged into the mains, with the battery removed. If it will, then get the battery checked. Check also that if the battery is fitted, the latches are in the lock position
4.) Check the AC adaptor green led light is not pulsing or flicking, it should be steady green. if is IS flickering, try a universal one. If the problem persists, you may have an internal fault on the motherboard
5.) Check the security of the DC jack, if this is loose or sloppy or feels worn, you need to get the jack replaced (see below), leaving it in this condition can cause arcing and permanent damage to the motherboard
6.) Check the adapters output voltage using a voltmeter, with the red probe on the inner contact and the black probe on the outer contact.
7.) Try swapping out the ram (if accessible) sometimes a ram module goes bad and stops the laptop from switching on, at this stage, disconnect the hard drive and see if it switched on with it removed.
After that, you are almost certainly looking at a strip down of the laptop, depends on whether you feel comfortable doing this..otherwise a repair technician will be needed
Possible causes will be:
A. The DC jack cable from the port to the motherboard is damaged (check continuity with a multimeter set to Ohms)
B. The Power capacitors or diodes on the motherboard are damaged (probably new motherboard needed)
C: The laptop has overheated at some point and the graphics chip has unsoldered, CPU fan failed, or CPU dead.
A good technician will be able to diagnose the fault from a few tests

SOURCE: my little buddy won't turn
I have 2 of these devices. Try using a cellular phone charger with the same plug at the end and plug it in. I have waited 5-10 minutes after doing this and they have come back to life and turn on. Maybe it will work for you.

SOURCE: Replaced stock bcm with used.
A used body control can be used in a vehicle other than the vehicle it was installed in. the body control module when first installed is programmed with the vehicle vin number. the vin number can not be changed was it was written to the BCM. the oprions can be always change in the BCM but not the VIN number. basically the used bcm you have installed has the vin number from the vehicle was installed in, now the vin number in the used BCM doesnt match all the other control modules

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.
If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.
