If you have a DVD player you can do a test to see if you have a bad tuner in the TV. Using Red, White, and Yellow cables hook up your DVD player to the corresponding jacks on the back of the DVD player and INPUT on the back of the TV with corresponding jacks as well. Turn on the DVD and TV and go to the TV menu and find the input that you have the red, white, and yellow jacks hooked to and see if you get a picture from your DVD player. If you do get a picture you probably have a bad tuner in your TV (if you are sure your cable signal is good). This setup bypasses the tuner. Let me know how it goes. And if you haven't done so be sure you have the right input for your cable signal correct in the menu as well.
hello I tried that, with dvd player, no help, and yesterday the picture even got worse, like it was like fading away, and green, if this is the tuner, how hard is to change? want to make sure , do you know how much it is for this television?
I may have misunderstood. If you see IMAGES on the screen and it has a mostly green picture you have bad picture tubes especially the red and blue tubes. This is common for this old of a set. And it would be better to invest the money into an LCD or LED flat screen instead. All 3 tubes would require replacing and each is at least $200 (EACH) plus labor is not cheap when changing them.
thankyou, thats what i was afraid of, investing in this ,when i can buy a new one, thanks
